Flowers and Things

By some miracle I have just taken delivery of the flower head embellishments which I use to make my favourite card. I had the instructions for making it on my computer so I can get it out as quickly as possible.

1. Take an A4 card in white and cut a 10cm strip off the bottom . Fold in half to form a card approx 19.5cm x 10.5cm.
2. Cut a 10.5 x 8cm piece of lilac spider wrap and stick to the bottom of the card. SEE PHOTOGRAPH FOR EXAMPLE.

3. Cut an 11cm length of light orchid ribbon.

Put some glue along the back and holding it firmly in place, stick down to the card to cover the place where the spider wrap meets the card. This will give you a neat finish. Or you can use thin double sided tape.

1. When the glue is dry, trim the ends.
2. Cut a piece of glitter card to make a vase. I made mine: 5.5cm tall; 3cm across the top and 1cm across the bottom. Stick a light orchid bow to the pot. I used thin foam tape as I find this is the best thing to use when sticking on bows. I getting in a new Stix2 tape that is just 3mm x3mm x 2mm. Great for bows. Tiny ones that is.

3. Take a 20cm length of crinkle wire and twist it to make the shape of a stem and two leaves. It twists easily and can be cut with an old scissors.
4. Cut a piece of foam tape and stick to the back of the vase and cut another to stick to the back of the flower.

Now attach one end of the wire to the foam at the vase and the other to the foam behind the flower. Stick each to the card. See photo.
5. Take a few sliver sequins and stick them to the card. 5 should be ample.
6. I printed the message on the card, but you could use a peel off message.

Go on, be a devil and tell me what you think. I really would like to have feed back.

Love is In the Air

Well, now that Christmas is over we card makers need some other excuse to keep on creating cards and what better than Valentine's day to bring a bit of romance to all of us. Even if we don't have a Valentine it's always good to make them with children so that they can send them. Handmade ones look so good and we get lots of pleasure from making them. At least I do.

Have a look at this latest addition and let me know what you think.

Continuing with the bag theme

Now that I have the bug for making gift bags, I keep on coming up with ideas. I especially like this one as it uses one of the dies that I have never yet used. This bag contained a present for my husband. he is a mad keen cyclist and I really could not have done better. the bag is a gift in its self.

I made a bag out of a sheet of heavy blue paper and decorated it with black paper to look like the road, white strips for the road markings and green spider wrap for the grass. I then topped this up with the cyclist die cut and i think that it looks pretty good. It will only take a small gift but I am sure that a ticket to the Tour de France would not go amiss.
