Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts at Westpoint, Exeter
I'm just in the process of packing up for the Creative Stitches & Hobbycrafts at the Westpoint Arena in Exeter. Is anybody going to be there? If you are please drop by and say hello. We have Polly Noonan demonstrating calligraphy and we have hundreds of ribbon. see you all there.
Despite my quirky sense of humour I do like the occasional pretty thing and this stained glass stamp set is wonderful for that. The latest one for me to try out is this round one and I thought that I would stick to the blue colours to set it off.
As usual I used the kuretake pens to colour it in and then I cut it out freehand. I mounted the image onto a piece of darker blue card and trimmed to leave a border. I used 3D foam pads to stick it to a base card. The bottom half of base card had been covered with light blue paper and a piece of silver ribbon was stuck to the join. I used my favourite little flower stamp to put a balancing image at the bottom of the card.
We've just returned from the Knitting and Stitching Show at the NEC and I can only say what a disaster it was. I met lots of nice people but the show was poorly attended and I lost money. I can't see me going back there in a hurry. I have to give myself a few creative days to get over it.
I have been lucky enough to have my work published as part of the editorial in Crafts Beautiful, September 2007. See pages 14 and 15. I made the projects and wrote the instructions.
I've had a last minute request from the organiser of Art Stamps Wales to set up my Craft Fairy stand next Saturday. Janet, my faithful sidekick, is away on holidays so I am taking my husband. God help the buying public. I hope that they don't as him any craft questions and expect a sensible answer.
